Positive Ethics in Action: What It Really Means To Be Strengths-Based

Get Your Continuing Education Requirements in Ethics Taken Care of Early This Year!

Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 10-5 ET (7-2 PT)

6 hours of Continuing Education in Ethics with the NBCC!
For Counselors, Expressive Therapists, Art Therapists, Substance Abuse Counselors, Social Workers*, Marriage and Family Therapists*, etc. (See below for eligibility)

In this dynamic and engaging workshop, we will use art making, writing, action methods, client vignettes, and dialogue to define and explore what it really means be “strengths-based” practitioners – and what that looks like in action.

Positive ethics suggest that therapists are more empowered and can better serve their clients when they go beyond just meeting minimal standards and focus more on identifying the strengths, values, and ideals that bring them to the helping professions.

From the science of character strengths and learning to effectively use and cultivate strengths in ourselves and our clients to the ethical considerations in understanding the relationship between our values and strengths, this highly experiential workshop will provide you with the research and applications you need to truly – and ethically – be “strengths-based”.

Walk away with:

  • A clear understanding of the connection between ethics, principles, values, and operating from a strengths-based foundation.
  • A toolkit of concrete strategies to put strengths and values into action both for our clients, ourselves, and our communities.

This training will qualify for 6 CEC’s for both the ATCB and the National Board of Certified Counselors (See below).
